Fuel Education Launches CTE Program for California With 15 Career Pathways

Fuel Education (FuelEd) today launched its Career Readiness Pathways for California. The online and blended learning program features more than 15 career pathways that align with the California Department of Education's (CDE) career and technical education (CTE) model standards, as well as more than 100 CTE courses beyond the program courses and supporting services.   

Pathways span agriculture, technology, healthcare and more. The Fuel Ed program “is designed to help support all 10 of the requirements for the Career Technical Education Incentive Grant (CTEIG) program set by the CDE, thus enabling districts to use various state funding to implement the program,” according to a news release. California has issued millions of dollars in grants to schools, districts and other education organizations to help enhance CTE programs throughout the state. In addition, the program allows districts to seek funding under the Perkins Act and offer 170 A-G approved courses included in the pathways program — of which 36 are included in the pathways program.

Supporting services for the online and blended learning program include:

  • FuelEd CTE teachers;
  • National Career Readiness Certificate exam preparation for the three ACT WorkKeys assessments; and
  • A Career Exploration component of the program that students can use to match their interests and skills to careers, prepare resumes and research colleges and career fields.
