SchoolStatus Acquires TeachBoost, Creator of Platforms for Educator Observations, Evaluations, and Coaching

K–12 communications and data provider SchoolStatus announced today it has acquired TeachBoost, an ed tech company whose tools support educator observations, evaluations, and coaching, according to a news release.

The acquisition of TeachBoost complements SchoolStatus’ mission to build a K–12 communications and operations ecosystem that drives better student outcomes and seamless user experiences on its data and engagement platform, SchoolStatus said. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Founded in 2012, TeachBoost hosts a cloud-based, user-friendly platform to simplify educator observation, evaluation, and professional development. TeachBoost Pro and TeachBoost Coach enable customizable, impactful interactions among teachers, coaches, and administrators, and the platforms enable schools to make smarter, data-driven decisions in professional development planning.

“The addition of TeachBoost enables SchoolStatus to offer our district partners a leading solution for every step of the K–12 teacher development process, from evaluation and compliance to personalized coaching that drives educator growth,” said SchoolStatus CEO Russ Davis.

“At a time when teachers and kids need more support than ever before, we need to make sure educators have the tools to leverage every interaction as an opportunity for growth,” said TeachBoost CEO and Founder Jason DeRoner. “Stronger teacher–leader relationships lead to increased greater educator capacity, which in turn drives student achievement. The combined forces of TeachBoost and SchoolStatus will help teachers and leaders establish and deepen critical relationships based on mutual trust and transparency.”
