Editing VCR Has DSP Circuitry

The AG-DS550 "SuperDeck" S-VHS Editing VCR offers high quality and performance at an affordable price.

The VCR has built-in Digital Signal Processing (DSP) circuitry that improves handling of the Y and C signals for enhanced picture quality. It also has a built-in 3-Dimensional Time Base Corrector (TBC) with a full field of memory that provides superior error correction by using adjacent line information from the previous and current video fields, improving picture quality and compensating for drop-outs.

The deck includes a built-in Time Code Generator/Reader for LTC/VITC recording and playback, facilitating high-precision time code editing.

Other key features include jog/shuttle with 32X high-speed search in forward and reverse; 16:9 wide aspect capability; RS-422A serial control port; an improved IQ tape transport mechanism; four audio channels (two Hi-Fi and two linear); composite NTSC and Y/C video output; professional balanced XLR audio connectors and a compact 3-rack-units high design.
