Proxima Names Contest Winners

Proxima Corp. named the winners of its "Win with Proxima" contest, which recognized educators combining desktop projection with other state-of-the-art technologies to enhance classroom instruction. Prizes, valued at over $25,000, ranged from a Proxima Ovation LCD panel to a complete mobile multimedia center featuring a Proxima Desktop Projector and laptop computer with CD-ROM drive.
First prize went to Lucie Podd, of North Country Union High School in Newport, Vt., who proposed to add a new Electronic Publishing course to the business education curriculum. In one project, students would create a web page representing one facet of the local community. Tim Comolli, of South Burlington High School in South Burlington, Vt., received the second prize for his involvement with the school's Imaging Lab. And Knan Lee, of the Marion County School District in Ocala, Fla., won third prize for overseeing the WXEL News Live! program. Winners of the contest, co-sponsored with T.H.E.
