Component Library Aids Low-Cost Mapping

ESRI is releasing MapObjects LT, a collection of mapping components based upon their successful professional component library, MapObjects, for Windows.

MapObjects LT consists of an ActiveX control and a collection of programmable ActiveX automation objects that allow developers to add intelligent mapping capabilities to their applications.

Unique to the GIS developer market, MapObjects LT includes ESRI Data and Maps Volume 1. Ready-to-use data include roads, census boundaries, zip codes, states, counties, countries, and much more. And, MapObjects LT plugs directly into many standard programming environments such as Visual Basic, Delphi, Visual C++ and others.

MapObjects LT also includes sample applications complete with source code. Its online help includes many examples that developers can copy and paste directly into applications. Educators who wish to test the new product can do so by downloading it from the firm's Web site. ESRI, Inc., Redlands, CA, (909) 793-2853, www.esri.com. W
