Satellite Competition System Upgraded

LearnStar Version 4.0 features content upgrades including elementary social studies and also SAT preparation. New polling applications were also added, as were improved user utilities.

The LearnStar System is a PC/satellite-based learning package that delivers multi-user/multi-school competitions. It includes a library of K-12 competitions in 16 subject areas; a dedicated Pentium-based control system with CD-ROM and printer; a satellite dish and receiver; a wireless keypad transceiver; classroom keypads pack and charging trays ó all on a heavy-duty component cart.

LearnStarís 89 new social studies competitions for grades 2-6 include topics such as U.S. History, Geography, World History, Government and Economics. For high school students, 30 SAT preparation competitions feature Vocabulary, Analogies and Sentence Completions.

In addition to conducting a live poll in their classroom, educators now have the choice of a traditional point-total competition scoreboard screen or a graph indicating the percentage of studentsí answer choices.
