ClarisWorks Now Accesses the Web

ClarisWorks has been upgraded to version 5, adding new features while still retaining its compact size and small memory requirements. As an alternative to other, bulky productivity packages, ClarisWorks 5.0 gives educators functions that theyíll need and use, not unnecessary ones.

To start off, a new ClarisWorks button bar lets users customize their desktop, providing easy access to appropriate tools. These customized button bars can "travel" with a document, so the necessary controls are always at hand. A new equation editor is built-in to the program, and the text ruler is now easier to use. And, you can now access the Web directly from within ClarisWorks.

ClarisWorks 5.0 is uniquely cross-platform, with the same user interface and file format for both Windows and Macintosh computers, with no need for a file translator. Numerous other enhancements abound, from password protection on any document, to new database multimedia fields. Claris Corp., Santa Clara, CA, (800) 544-8554, www.claris.com.
