DESCRIPTION: Twelve 3-8 grade students have earned $5,000 in savings bonds in the 1999 Craftsman/NSTA Young Inventors Awards Program. The annual competition invites students to invent a new tool or redesign an existing one. Selected from nearly 3,000 entries, the national finalists also earned a trip to Chicago in September where two national winners will be named.
