A unique hybrid product comes from Sony Electronics, Inc. The VAIO C1X PictureBook is a fully equipped micronotebook with an integrated Charged Coupled Device (CCD) camera. It weighs in at 2.5 lbs. and measures 1.5" thick. It carries a full Windows 98, 266MHz Pentium MMX system in its compact case.

Built into the top bezel of the display is the camera with which to take photos or record up to 60 seconds of video. The images or video can be attached to e-mail. Sony's Motion Eye camera swivels to accommodate various angles and a 360-view shot can be made by stitching sequential images together. A 4.3GB hard drive, modem, floppy disk drive, video, USB video ports and Sony's Smart Software suite are included.
