Elo TouchSystem

Apple has authorized Elo TouchSystems, Inc. to sell a touch-enabled version of the iMac into the education market. Elo’s iTouch technology applied to the iMac makes the all-in-one touch solution well suited for schools. By applying iTouch technology directly onto the surface of the cathode ray tube, Elo has eliminated the need for clip-on overlays that can be bumped and moved, resulting in frequent recalibrations. The iTouch technology allows 100 percent light transmission for superior optical characteristics, and its “plug and touch” setup makes the computer easy for teachers to operate right out of the box.

Touch technology fits well with special education, early child development testing, student registration and library systems. The bright, clear touchscreen graphics are designed to engage students of all ages. Elo Touch Systems, Inc., Fremont, CA, (800) ELOTOUCH, www.elotouch.com.
