PeopleSoft Launches New Web-Based Enterprise Solution

PeopleSoft’s recently launched PeopleSoft 8 for Higher Education offers a suite of e-Business applications like PeopleSoft Human Resources Management for Education and Government, PeopleSoft Student Administration and Advancement, PeopleSoft Financial Management for Education and more. Completely rewritten for the Internet, the solution is powered by the PeopleSoft Internet Architecture, an open and scalable e-Business platform based on HTML and XML. The server-centric architecture significantly decreases cost by  eliminating the need for software on the computer device. All that is needed is an Internet browser.

The applications are accessible via phone lines and wireless devices, have the look and ease-of-use of popular Web sites, and integrate quickly and cost-effectively with third-party software. Students can access information over the Internet, employees can manage their own benefits and training, and faculty can deliver instructional materials and post grades online. The system also supports the need to deliver and manage distributed learning over the Internet. In addition, PeopleSoft’s On Campus program, a program that integrates PeopleSoft into the curricula of colleges and universities, has begun working with members of its Academic Advisory Council to prepare a plan to upgrade participating universities from version 7.5 to version 8.
