New Releases - Suite of Tools Benefits Digital Imagery

Two paint and photo imaging software programs are combined in Wacom Technology Corp.'s Graphire Power Suite, a software and hardware package for the digital photography market. In addition to Adobe Photoshop 5.0 LE and Corel Painter Classic, the suite includes ParaGraph PenOffice 2000 SE for annotating Microsoft Word documents, Sensiva for drawing symbols to execute actions, Adobe ActiveShare to share photos, and PenTools. Also included is a Graphire USB cordless pen-and-mouse input system.

Adobe Photoshop offers a comprehensive set of image editing features, while Corel Painter Classic provides a simplified interface to a powerful program that mimics traditional art media. Sensiva is a new gesture recognition software program for PCs, with the capability to simulate hot keys based on symbols that the user draws. ParaGraph PenOffice 2000 is special inking software that lets a user add a signature or handwritten notes to Word documents, and lets users jot ideas on an electronic scratch pad for digital importing. Adobe ActiveShare facilitates the sharing of photographs on the Web, via e-mail or in prints. Finally, Wacom PenTools is a set of eight pressure-sensitive Photoshop plug-ins that can be used to clean up images or add special effects.
