Spotlight: Notebooks

Notebook computers continue to get smaller as their power increases. And as the prices of notebooks become more affordable, they have become a necessity at educational institutions around the country. What began as a trend in higher education to equip students with notebooks, is now readily seen among younger students as well. In fact, it probably wouldn't be unusual to see grade-school students today with a lunch box in one hand and a notebook in the other.

With notebooks, making room for computers for every student is now possible, not to mention affordable. It has also helped many students who can't afford to invest in an entire desktop system. Notebooks have also become popular because they enable students and instructors to take notes, write a paper, check e-mail and surf the Web from anywhere. But most importantly, notebooks allow instructors and administrators to make technology a part of their students' education, preparing them for the future.

This month's Products Spotlight showcases a select few of the many notebook computers currently available to the education market.
