BE-300 Pocket Manager

Casio's color BE-300 Pocket Manager is a new addition to the company's Cassiopeia line of products. Running on 166 MHz and a 280 MIPS CPU, the BE-300 is powerful and fast. It comes with 16 MB of RAM, which can be expanded through the CompactFlash Type II card slot. The card slot accepts a variety of expansion modules, including camera cards and wireless modems. The 121 x 76 x 17.9 mm handheld runs on a Windows CE 3.0 operating system and weighs about 167 grams without the flip cover. The screen measures 3.2", and supports 320 x 240 pixels and 32K colors.

The BE-300 comes bundled with personal information management (PIM) applications, including a calendar, contacts database, to-do list, and memo pad that allows text and free-hand drawing. It also comes with e-mail and Web browser capabilities; a multimedia package with an MP3 player, a still-image viewer, a camera application and PC data SyncSoft.

Casio is also making available a Web site for all Cassiopeia products. MyCasio (www.mycasio.com) is a Web-based service that expands the utility of the BE-300 through personal, business, and entertainment content and services. Casio Inc., Dover, NJ, (800) 836-8580, www.casio.com.
