Prentice Hall Unveils Curriculum Resource

Prentice Hall's PH SuccessNet is a new advanced curriculum companion Web site for Prentice Hall programs that incorporates digital textbook content, built-in teacher support and customized student resources expressly for middle and high school grades. The site is available at www.phsuccessnet.com.

The Web site includes iText, an interactive textbook that provides enhanced momentum to improve student performance. It makes the core content of Prentice Hall programs come alive for students with activities built into the text, such as videos and slide shows. Each iText program includes specialized features designed to improve learning in its core subject area. For example, a key feature of the Writing and Grammar iText is e-rater, an online essay scorer developed by ETS Technologies. Students can use that feature, which has a 98 percent agreement rate with expert human essay scorers, to evaluate early drafts of essays and use the feedback to improve the final product. The results are sent directly to the teacher, who can then review the comments and provide any additional tips.

To assist teachers, the Web site also features the Teacher Center, a portal with convenient access to standards-based lesson plans and a secure online gradebook. Up to date professional development information is also available through a partnership with SkyLight Professional Development. In addition, PH SuccessNet's features are correlated to state and national standards. Prentice Hall, Needham Heights, MA, (781) 465-1800, http://vig.prenhall.com.
