Digital Imaging Camcorders: Sony

Sony's DCR-PC101 Mini DV Handycam camcorders offer professional-quality images in a compact body. The DCR-PC101 is a 1-megapixel CCD camcorder the size of a paperback book. The camcorder comes with a USB streaming feature that lets users connect toa PC and stream recorded video. For budding filmmakers, the DCR-PC101 comes equipped with MPEG MovieEX, which allows it to capture video clips with audio onto Memory Stick media. The clips can be transferred to a PC and sent as an e-mail attachment or included on Web sites and presentations. Two recording modes let users capture the best image in total darkness or low-light settings. Other features include i.LINK DV interface, which allows for high-speed digital communication between two devices; Super SteadyShot picture stabilizing; and a 10X optical/120X precision digital zoom for bringing action closer with less distortion.
