Wireless Gateways Help Universities Secure, Manage Wi-Fi Networks

Bluesocket Inc. (www.bluesocket.com) has announced that its Wireless Gateways are being implemented at large multischool universities with 15,000 to 50,000 wireless users and smaller institutions with less than 10,000 students. Outreach schools that potentially serve 200,000 students a year and some K-12 schools are also using the Wireless Gateways.

The institutions chose Bluesocket to provide low cost of ownership, quick installation and easy-to-maintain systems for managing a variety of wireless implementations. The Wireless Gateways deliver an open-systems approach to secure and manage Wi-Fi networks. They also provide authentication and bandwidth management through interoperability with legacy infrastructure and WLAN standards.
