Blackboard, Thinkronize Partner on netTrekker

##AUTHORSPLIT##<--->

01.25.2007—Education software publisher Blackboard is partnering with Thinkronize, the developer of the netTrekker d.i. search engine. Through the partnership, netTrekker search functionality will be available within Blackboard's learning management system. The announcement was made this week at the FETC convention in Florida.

Thinkronize's netTrekker is a search engine designed specifically for education. It includes access to more than 180,000 resources for K-12 educators, students, and parents. With the new partnership with Blackboard, netTrekker will be available in the form of a Blackboard Building Block. These BBBs are third-party applications that integrate with and extend the Backboard platform. A beta version of this new version of netTrekker is available now.

According to Blackboard, the netTrekker Blackboard Building Block beta is also being made available for the Blackboard K-12 Starter Edition, a hosted system designed for schools in the "early stages of developing an e-learning strategy." Blackboard K-12 Starter Edition was launched six months ago.

Blackboard and Thinkronize are showing off the new technology at the FETC convention this week in Florida at booths 1074 and 859. More information and a download of the netTrekker Blackboard Building Bock can be found at the links below.
