Everett Public Schools Streamlines Student Records Management

##AUTHORSPLIT##<--->

Everett Public Schools in Washington has contracted with Certica Solutions to deploy its Certify product for the 18,500-student district in an effort to enhance data integrity and data management.

The district will use Certify to ensure the quality of student data for a range of applications, including emergency notifications, student demographics and population makeup, student attendance, and student credit reporting, among other things. The system is intended to help the district maintain accurate records to better serve its student, and stake-holder populations, as well as help ensure regulatory compliance.

As a rules-based solution, Certify will allow the district to develop a series of customized rules that define "what high-quality data should look like." The software then uses the rules to run nightly checks against the student information system, looking for inconsistencies. Problems or questions with the data are tracked and reported online. District and school administrators are also alerted of the potential issues, helping to expedite corrective action.

According to Certica, the company's data validation solutions are in use by the United States Department of Education, as well as school districts around the country.
