NREA Enters into Partnership To Improve Emergency Notification
The National Rural Education Association (NREA) has entered into a strategic partnership with safety notification service provider Schoolreach in order to help member districts contact parents and community members quickly and efficiently during an emergency, as well as in non-emergency, safety-related situations. Under the terms of the partnership, NREA member districts will be able to purchase the company's system at a special discount.
Schoolreach offers a Web-based parental notification system that requires no on-site hardware or software installation. Using one of several different options, users can upload either voice or text emergency messages or announcements related to student and campus safety. Then when a situation calls for community notification, an administrator can simply log on to the system via the Web, and the system will immediately broadcast the appropriate message(s) to all phone numbers registered with the district's system. Further, if a district is temporarily without Internet access, an administrator can launch the system using a touch-tone phone. Details about the features offered by the system can be found here.
