Illinois District Chooses Nextiva for Video Surveillance Management

Troy Community Consolidated School District (TCCSD) of Plainfield, IL announced it has completed its implementation of the Nextiva IP Video Management System on its seven campuses. The district, which enrolls more than 4,000 students and employs more than 500 faculty and staff, includes portions of the cities of Joliet, Shorewood, Channahon, and Crest Hill, as well as parts of unincorporated Troy Township.

"The Nextiva IP Video Management solution greatly simplifies our video surveillance operations by providing a user-friendly interface to easily monitor the entire campus infrastructure," said Ron Saver, director of information services for TCCSD. "The system also has increased student accountability for their actions, as well as deterred such random acts as theft and vandalism."

The Nextiva system is manufactured by Verint and was installed for TCCSD by systems integrator Velocita Technology. The system includes such features as a centralized visual monitoring system, remote access to live and recorded video, storage of recorded video, automated system health monitoring and diagnostics, policy-based video distribution, and various investigation management capabilities.
