NBC Learn, University of Phoenix Grant Licenses to LA Schools

University of Phoenix and NBC News will provide free NBC Learn licenses to all middle schools and high schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District.

NBC Learn is an educational service from NBC News and is available for K-12 schools and higher education institutions. It is available as a subscription that provides access to NBC News' historical archives and other resources. Features of NBC Learn include:

  • Thousands of searchable and downloadable resources and source documents, covering history from the 17th Century to today;
  • Universal newsreels from the 1930s to the 1960s;
  • Videos aligned to state standards;
  • Regularly updated current events; and
  • Personalized playlists.

NBC News and University of Phoenix are also partnering with NBC4 LA and Telemundo to present the Education Nation Experience in Los Angeles this week.

Education Nation Experience is a free bilingual exhibition about the state of American education and workforce readiness. It features a teacher town hall May 15 and a workforce panel May 19 with CEOs and business leaders from Southern California. The exhibit, located at Exposition Park on the front lawn of the Museum of National History, began Friday, May 13 and will end Thursday, May 19th.
