Virtual Desktop App Comes to Nook Tablets

AlwaysOnPC, a mobile app for Android that offers users a multi-purpose virtual desktop, is now available in the Barnes & Noble Nook Apps store for the Nook Color and Nook Tablet devices.

The app, from Xform Computing, lets Nook users tap into a cloud-based virtual desktop loaded with more than 40 apps, featuring Chrome and Firefox browsers, support for Flash and Java apps, and a full Open Office suite for editing Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents.

The app offers 2 GB of cloud storage and Dropbox integration. The browsers include extensions like Evernote Web Clipper, toolbars, themes, add-ons, and synchronized bookmarks. All connections in the app are encrypted for security.

AlwaysOnPC is currently available in the Nook Apps store.
