Texas School District Adopts Tablet Management Solution

Educational Resources, a developer of instructional technology solutions for K-12, has added a Web-based module to its LearnPad tablet solution designed to allow teachers to better manage and monitor the tablets in their classroom. The new module, ClassView, was introduced at last month's ISTE conference in San Antonio.

With ClassView, teachers can view content and activity on any tablet in their classroom. The module allows instructors to share their screen with groups, "as well as push lessons and content to a single device, groups of devices, or an entire classroom," according to a company statement. Teachers can also send instant messages to students, extract files from devices, collect assessments, and view LearnPads in offsite locations. The Web-based module can be accessed from any browser.

Midland Independent School District in Texas decided to implement ClassView after test driving the module with various applications, including eInstructions's Insight 360.

"Our use of ClassView on our LearnPads here at Midland ISD has provided our teachers with incredible classroom management and instructional utility," said Dennis Haynie, instructional technology supervisor at Midland ISD. "Together with using LearnPad's professional development services and having ER align the LearnPad portal with our scope and sequence, their simple tablet solution was the right choice for our district."

Additional information about ClassView is available online.
