Edmentum Unveils Assessment Suite for Targeted Intervention

A new assessment tool aims to help teachers bring struggling students up to grade level in achievement.

Online learning solutions provider Edmentum has released a new assessment suite designed to help educators bring struggling students up to grade level in achievement.

Called Edmentum Assessments, the solution features diagnostic and formative assessments as well as prescriptive content -- for creating personalized learning programs -- and Edmentum Sensei, a data dashboard. Edmentum Sensei is accessible from mobile devices.

Also built into the suite are technology-enhanced item types, including constructed response, sequence and hot spot among others. All comply with Common Core State Standards assessments being developed by the Partnership for Assessment of Reading for College and Careers (PARCC) and the Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium (SBAC). The assessment suite comes with "more than 10,000 questions featuring 10 different item types, and can be purchased as a stand-alone classroom solution," according to the company.

The company is unveiling its new solution this week at FETC 2014 in Orlando, FL. Additional information is available at Edmentum's site.
