Smart Updates Solutions for Microsoft Lync Room Systems

Smart Technologies has updated its solutions for Microsoft Lync Room System (LRS) to add new room sizes and premium services and to offer more collaboration capabilities.

With the introduction of dual 84-inch displays, Smart's LRS solutions can now accommodate rooms ranging from 50 ft2 to 400 ft2, suitable for two to 20 users.

The company has also released Smart Meeting Pro Connector for Microsoft Lync, which allows multiple Smart displays and interactive boards to communicate via Lync. Users in the room or in remote locations can share data from any application, create digital notes and write in existing Office files and PDFs.

Other new features include:

  • New premium services, such as return on investment reporting, through Unify Square;
  • PowerView for Smart Room System (SRS), which provides reporting on room usage; and
  • Power start up package, which "includes deployment best practices, regular checkpoints to ensure successful implementation, guidance on interpretation of the PowerView for SRS reporting and metrics unique to each deployment, as well as input on user enablement activities, recommendations for further deployment and resources to continue to drive adoption," according to a company news release.
