Cengage Adds Artemis Access to MindTap

Cengage Learning has combined its Gale Artemis: Primary Sources tool with its e-learning platform, MindTap.

"The move brings library content directly into a student's learning path, facilitates collaboration between librarians and faculty, drives usage of library collections and positions the library closer to the engagement taking place in the classroom," according to a news release.

Academic institutions using both MindTap and Gale Digital Collections can now link them, allowing instructors to link primary source documents in a syllabus, assignment, quiz, research project, classroom discussion or other activity. Students will be taken to the document, but will still be able to access Artemis for additional research, encouraging "students to interact with quality research materials that promote critical thinking and help build digital literacy skills," according to information released by the company.

"Our position as part of Cengage Learning creates unique benefits for our customers, and this integration will connect Gale library resources to students and faculty in a way that no one else is able to do," said Paul Gazzolo, senior vice president and general manager at Gale, in a prepared statement.
