McREL Opens Online PD Library

McREL International has launched its Solutions Portal, an online library of resources designed to support professional development activities for K-12 educators.

The Solutions Portal includes training materials, presentations, videos, activity guides and planning guides on subjects such as instructional strategies, leadership development, educational technology, formative assessment and math and science education.

According to information on the site, the resources in the Solutions Portal are organized into three main categories:

  • McREL Solution Sets, which are resources related to the company's major publications and areas of expertise;
  • Problems of Practice, which focus on tackling common educational challenges, such as ensuring curricular pathways to success and providing whole-child student support; and
  • Thought Leadership, which includes research reports, policy briefs, white papers and articles from Changing Schools magazine.

While McREL's resource library has been available to its consultants for many years, this is the first time the materials have been made publicly available.

Access to the Solutions Portal's resources is tiered. A limited selection of resources are available to anybody free of charge, while additional resources require registration with a free user account and access to the entire library is available for an annual subscription fee, which includes five user logins.
