Promethean Unveils Latest Iteration of ClassFlow

Promethean has introduced the latest iteration of its ClassFlow software, a tool designed to connect teachers and students in the classroom. With the new ClassFlow Connect system, an entire class can simultaneously interact with, view or share resources from any mobile device.

Via a single device, any number of mobile devices can connect wirelessly with one another. As a consequence:

  • Students and teachers can project digital learning resources from any mobile device to an electronic display that the entire class can see;
  • Students can receive, send, draw or interact with one another or with the instructor individually concerning lesson content;
  • Teachers can create instant polls;
  • Anybody can connect from their mobile device with a built-in digital whiteboard;
  • Presentations, slides and notes collected from a lesson can be sent to the entire classroom; and
  • A custom Web browser can be used to search for information and then have it sent to students.

While released just recently for wide distribution, the ClassFlow Connect system was used as part of a pilot program in the Lafayette Parish School System earlier in November.

"We just did a demo where someone went outside with a phone and turned their camera on, and we could see what they were seeing from inside our technology lab," said LaShona Dickerson, the school system's technology director. "It brings so many more experiences into the classroom."

The system can support multiple WiFi network connections so that students and teachers can share screens regardless of whether they are on the school or guest network and IT administrators can remotely track and manage all ClassFlow Connect devices.

"With ClassFlow Connect, every classroom can become a dynamic learning environment in which 21st century students become more attentive, fascinated and engaged," said Promethean Chief Marketing Officer Vincent Young.
