Alma Gets Ad Hoc Scheduling Tool for Personalized Learning
has added a new personalized learning scheduling tool to its integrated
student information system and learning management system.
learning strives to offer educational experiences tailored to
each student's individual needs and interests. However, this approach
can create scheduling challenges for schools. Alma is addressing this
issue with the addition of ad-hoc scheduling for K-12 schools.
administrators can use Alma to designate which portion of the school
day or bell schedule are open to student choice and offer a selection
of classes and programs available during those times. Administrators
have the option to offer student-choice classes on a daily or weekly
basis, or for any other period of time, rather than a full semester or
Students can then make their selection through the
student portal, and staff can approve or override student choices. Alma
provides students with a dynamic schedule and provides teachers with
student rosters for those personalized classes.
In tandem with
the personalized learning scheduling tool, Alma has introduced new
scheduling and attendance-tracking features for activities that take
place outside of the normal bell schedule, such as extracurricular
activities, athletic programs and academic interventions.
Administrators can use the tool to keep track of students' whereabouts
across all school-based activities, which can help them respond to
emergency situations or collect data for decision making.
Further information about Alma's new personalized learning scheduling tool and attendance-tracking features can be found on Alma's site.
