Lumio and Canva Team Up for Free Integration

Digital learning tool Lumio has added integration with visual communication platform Canva for Education. Educators will have free access to export Canva materials to Lumio to create interactive lessons, activities, and assessments, and also free access to both the Lumio and Canva libraries, Lumio said.

Canva provides thousands of ready-to-use interactive, game-based, and assessment templates. Using Canva’s infographics library will save a lot of time, said Dan McMahon, Lumio vice president of software.

“This collaboration reinforces our commitment to inspiring creativity, saving teachers time, and creating an active learning environment that is accessible and collaborative for all.”

Lumio has also rolled out new feature updates, including:

  • A public beta version that edits PowerPoint slides after import with support for Google Slides and PDFs;

  • Access to the free OpenDyslexic font, a dyslexia friendly typeface; and

  • New Lumio game-based activity themes as well as simpler game versions that appeal to older learners.

Lumio said it will also be “showcasing a new Logic Model that highlights research demonstrating Lumio’s effectiveness to enable leading teaching practices to drive student outcomes.”

Lumio’s basic plan, with 50 MB lesson storage, is free. Single plan licenses cost $59 annually. Schools can visit this page to obtain group quotes.
