Discovery Education Expands DreamBox Reading to Support PreK-5 Learners

Ed tech provider Discovery Education has announced the latest enhancements to its DreamBox Reading adaptive literacy program, which now offers personalized instruction for grades PreK-5.

Built on the Discovery Education's Intelligent Adaptive Learning platform, DreamBox Reading "captures data from student answers, strategies, and behaviors to personalize learning in real time," the company explained in a news announcement. The program is designed to help students develop proficiency in foundational reading skills through activities "built around their own progress, performance, productive struggle, and age-appropriate play."

The latest DreamBox Reading enhancements include:

  • Additional content supporting grades PreK-5, covering topics such as phonics, decoding, guided reading, and language skills;
  • A new, age-appropriate learning environment for engaging upper elementary learners; and
  • Improved professional learning and supports for teachers.

"Evidence shows that too many students in grades 3-5 have not yet mastered foundational reading skills," said Lance Rougeux, Discovery Education's senior vice president of curriculum, instruction, and student engagement, in a statement. "The latest enhancements to DreamBox Reading were made in response to educator feedback and empower educators to deeply engage these students in reading and put them on a personalized path to future success."
