Class CrunchLabs, the suite of free curriculum resources from NASA engineer turned YouTube science communicator Mark Rober, has released its first two courses on YouTube.

Designed in partnership with the National Science Teaching Association, the standards-aligned "Carnival of Collisions: Contact Forces" and "Mission MagLev: Electric & Magentic Forces" courses offer free video lessons, guided activities, and supplemental teaching resources for grades 6-8.

Class CrunchLabs was launched last year to offer free hands-on science curriculum resources including teaching guides, classroom slides, student readings and handouts, assessments, and instructional videos featuring Rober alongside "Science Bob" Pflugfelder, celebrity guests, and student co-hosts. The initiative was backed by a $7.2 million grant to create the CrunchLabs.org Foundation, a nonprofit "dedicated to revolutionizing science education in a way that promotes critical thinking and inspires lasting curiosity and confidence in STEM," according to a news announcement at the time.

The organization plans to roll out additional courses on YouTube over time, with the ultimate goal of posting more than 1,000 science videos in 34 languages.
