Building a Windows Network

Farallon Communications’ new NetLINE series of low-cost Ethernet Switches, Cards and Adaptersprovides the equipment needed to build a network of PCs running Windows 95, 98,2000 or NT. The line is made up of NetLINE 10/100 Switches, the NetLINE 10/100PCI Card and USB Adapter, and the NetLINE 10 Mb PCI, ISA and PC Cards.

Available in both 5-port and 8-port configurations, theNetLINE 10/100 Ethernet Switches’ compact size takes up less desktop space,making them a great solution for classrooms where space is at a premium. Theyare ideal for integrating 10 MB and 100 MB devices on the same network segment.Switching ports segment traffic to improve network performance, and N-Wayauto-negotiation easily connects devices at maximum speed. The switches alsofeature plug and play installation with no software to install, and provideat-a-glance LEDs to provide immediate troubleshooting information.

For users who require the speed of 100MB Ethernet, there are two NetLINE products to choose from: the NetLINE 10/100PCI Card and the NetLINE 10/100 USB Adapter. They are great for PCI or USB equippedcomputers that need connectivity to Ethernet or Fast Ethernet networks, orCable/DSL modems. Features include a built-in 10/100 Base-T RJ-45 port, plugand play compatibility and N-Way auto negotiation.

Finally, the NetLINE 10 Mb Ethernet cards are perfect forsmaller networks and are available in three slot types: PCI, ISA and PC Card.They are all certified for use with @Home and RoadRunner Broadband Internetservices.
