Foundation Offers $300,000 in K-12 STEM Grants

Energy producer Dominion and its philanthropic organization, the Dominion Foundation, have opened up applications for their $300,000 K-12 science and math grant program for 2009-2010.

The program will award grants up to $10,000 apiece to applicants in nine states. The program is focused on environmental and energy education, and applicants are required to submit proposals that advance math or science skills through the study of the environment or "increase student awareness of energy efficiency and conservation, energy sources or other energy-related topics."

Schools in Virginia and West Virginia and parts of Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island are eligible to apply.

Applications for the 2009-2010 grant program are due May 1. Further information can be found here.
