Christie Intros 2 HD LCD Projectors

Christie's LW555 LCD projector with four-corner geometry control

Christie unveiled two high-definition LCD projectors at this year's InfoComm conference, held last week in Las Vegas, NV.

Both projectors, the LWU420 and the LW555, feature support for HD video formats up to 1080p and offer RJ-45 LAN connectivity, an auto detect feature for the aspect ratio, a Kensington slot and security bar, and 10-bit image processing.

The devices differ in their native resolutions, contrast, and brightness. The LWU420 has a native resolution of 1,920 x 1,200, a brightness of 4,200 lumens, and a contrast ratio of 1,000:1.

The LW555 will offer a 1,280 x 800 resolution (WXGA), a brightness of 5,500 lumens, and a contrast ratio of 800:1. The LW555 also offers a feature called "3D Keystone," which is designed to provide flexibility for positioning the projector in a room by offering four-corner geometry correction. Other features include 10-bit image processing and motorized lens shift.

Inputs for both models include HDMI 1.3, RGB (mini D-sub 15-pin), BNC, component, S-video, and composite video, along with two stereo minijacks and a pair of RCA stereo jacks for audio. They also offer monitor out and stereo audio out (via minijack).

The LWU420 and LW555 will ship in July and will be covered by a three-year parts and labor and 120-day lamp warranty. Further information can be found here.
