Boxlight Unveils 2 New Short Throw Projectors


The Boxlight WX25NU features a resolution of 1,280 x 800 and a brightness of 2,500 lumens.

Boxlight has released two short throw LCD projectors with automatic set up features, alerts, network connectivity, and built in sound.

The new projectors, dubbed the BL X25NU and the BL WX25NU, display images with a brightness of 2,500 lumens and a contrast ratio of 600:1. Using a 230-Watt bulb and a fixed lens, the units project an image size ranging from 49 inches to 100 inches at distances between 2 feet and 4.4 feet.

The BL X25NU has a resolution of 1,024 x 768 (XGA) while the BL WX25NU has a resolution of 1,280 x 800 (WXGA). Both projectors support input resolutions up to 1,600 x 1,200 (UXGA).

Automatic setup and alert features include auto sync, auto ceiling, auto search, auto filter alert, and an automatic vertical keystone correction of ±30 degrees.
Both projectors have display modes that correct the color of images projected on some non-white surfaces and adjust visual settings for different lighting conditions. Display modes include cinema, natural, daylight, green board, blackboard, white board, and user.

The BL X25NU and the BL WX25NU support both RS-232 control and RJ-45 LAN.

Additional features include:

  • USB plug and play;
  • A throw ratio of 0.63:1;
  • Image freeze;
  • Logo capture; and
  • An 8-watt speaker.

To prevent theft, the projectors come equipped with a Kensington lock slot, a keypad lock slot, and a security anchor bar.

AV inputs include HDMI, analog RGB/component (mini D-sub 15-pin), component, S-video, and stereo RCA jacks. Peripherals, control ports, and AV outputs include RJ-45, RS-232, USB, and a stereo minijack. The projectors are also equipped with an analog RGB/component (mini D-sub 15-pin) in/out port.

The BL X25NU is available for $1,695 and the BL WX25NU is available for  $1,795.  The projectors are covered by a 3-year parts and a labor warranty and a 90-day or 500-hour lamp warranty.
