Desire2Learn To Improve Integration with Cengage Resources

Users of the Desire2Learn Learning Suite will have direct access to digital materials from Cengage Learning thanks to a partnership between the two companies announced last week.

In addition to making digital content more easily available, Cengage will provide users of the Desire2Learn learning management system (LMS) with access to the full array of core curriculum offerings available with Cengage. This will provide more options to educators and allow for creative tailoring of instructional resources for individual student needs.

With the partnership, users will be offered:

  • Direct access to digital resources;
  • Automatic sign-on capability; and
  • Gradebook integration.

The partnership is designed to create "a simpler and more intuitive user experience for both instructors and students," according to the companies.

"Our partnership with Desire2Learn further demonstrates our commitment to improving the customer experience, and as a result, faculty and institutions will be able to better leverage our content within their courses," said William Rieders, executive vice president of New Media, Cengage Learning. "In working together, we intend to maximize both the power of Desire2Learn Learning Suite, as well as the value of our content and benefits of our Cengage Learning solutions."

Desire2Learn currently serves more than 6 million users worldwide.

Cengage Learning brands and products include such offerings as Brooks/Cole, Course Technology, Delmar, Gale, Heinle, South-Western and Wadsworth and others.
