Publisher Donates SW To Portland District

Responding to statements by the mayor of Portland about the plight of local schools, Pierian Spring Software donated $50,000 in software to that city's school system. Representatives from the firm personally delivered software to the schools, including two geography programs for grades 5-8: Interactive Geography, which teaches about climate and boundaries, hydrosphere and biosphere, charts and graphs, and more; and Continent Explorer II - The World, which surveys all seven continents with challenging activities. An Apple Education Solution Provider, the company invites other companies to help Portland schools acquire new learning tools. Pierian Spring Software, Portland, OR, (800) 472-8578, www.pierian.com.
