Putting Online Assessment to the Test

Sylvan Prometric’s new HTML-based testing engine, Sylvan Online Testing, lowers the barrier to entry in the computer-based testing environment for many clients with smaller volume testing programs. It allows for easy management of test authoring, reporting and delivery, thus simplifying and expediting the overall testing process. Benefits of the service include: the ability to build and publish exams directly via the Web; direct control over authoring, publishing and reporting; and the ability to deliver assessments via the Internet to candidate or client locations, such as universities, community colleges, employer sites or the candidate’s own home.

Also from Sylvan, the @SylvanNetwork furnishes a set of testing services that allow test providers a secure, convenient, and cost-effective way to deliver assessment programs, independent of the Internet testing software used. Web-enabled testing workstations allow for test delivery over a standard browser. Other features include: an extensive network of over 200 testing facilities in the U.S. and Canada; professional proctoring by Sylvan Prometric certified proctors; centralized registration, scheduling and test fee collection; and strict security, test taking identification and verification; and comfortable, consistent testing environments.
