GTCO To Supply 11,700 Interactive Whiteboards to Mexico

##AUTHORSPLIT##<--->

12.20.2006—GTCO CalComp will supply its InterWrite SchoolBoard interactive whiteboards to the Mexican government as part of the Ministry of Education's Secundarias project. This is the second such contract GTCO has received with the Mexican government. In addition, back in November, the company signed a similar deal with the government of the Russian Federation for 1,600 InterWrite SchoolBoards.

According to the terms of this latest deal, GTCO will supply 11,700 InterWrite SchoolBoards to the Mexican Ministry of Education for Secundarias, which is a program aimed at providing secondary schools in Mexico with tools needed for accessing digital resources for learning and teaching. According to GTCO, by February 2007, there will be more than 36,000 InterWrite SchoolBoards "installed and operating in primary and secondary schools across Mexico."

GTCO said that the InterWrite SchoolBoard is a primary interactive instructional tool that will be integrated with various classroom technologies (computers, projectors, printers and the like). GTCO is working with its partner, Proeducación, to supply its technologies to Mexican schools.

Aside from the InterWrite SchoolBoard, GTCO also manufactures the InterWrite SchoolPad, a wireless controller for computers with attached projectors, and InterWrite PRS, a student response system. On the software side, GTCO develops InterWrite, a suite that allows teachers to annotate over third-party applications or build new lessons.
