Round Rock ISD Expands NAC Deployment

##AUTHORSPLIT##<--->

Round Rock Independent School District in Texas is expanding its deployment of network access control devices. The 39-campus, 110-square-mile district has added 10 new NAC appliances from Mirage Networks, as well as a Mirage Management Server, to its network, integrating with the existing Cisco architecture.

The move is designed to create a centralized point for network visibility, event reporting, and maintenance, according to Mirage, and to provide access control, threat prevention, and automated policy enforcement.

"The Mirage NAC solution is effective and easy to deploy, and after reviewing our options it was the clear winner for us. The product has been rock solid from day one. In fact, the Sasser virus hit us during the install. Without Mirage, our network would have come to a grinding halt," said Dan Scott, senior systems engineer for Round Rock, in a statement issued Tuesday.

Round Rock Independent School District serves about 39,000 students in four high schools, eight middle schools, 27 elementary schools, and three alternative learning centers.
