Novell To Launch Team Collaboration for Open Workgroup Suite

Novell next month will begin shipping two new workspace and collaboration tools for its Open Workgroup Suite: Novell Teaming and Novell Teaming + Conferencing. The tools are designed to boost team productivity and streamline processes involved in creating, managing, and sharing information.

Novell Teaming is a collaboration tool that combines a wide range of communications, networking, and Web tools, from blogs and wikis to file sharing and LDAP synchronization to instant messaging and surveys. It also offers the following:

  • Support for regulatory compliance;
  • Section 508 compliance;
  • WebDAV support;
  • Document management;
  • Support for breadcrumbs (dynamic backward navigation);
  • LDAP import;
  • Profile management;
  • Search capabilities;
  • Calendars;
  • Threaded discussions;
  • Workspace support; and
  • Various other minor functionality.

The Teaming + Conferencing package includes all of these features, plus real-time Web and VoIP conferencing; application sharing; chat; desktop sharing; and whiteboarding.

Both Teaming and Teaming + Conferencing will ship Oct. 20.
