Christie Debuts 6,000-Lumen Widescreen Projector

At the convention of the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) this week, Christie launched a new 3LCD projector boasting a brightness of 6,000 ANSI lumens and a contrast ratio of 2,000:1. The new widescreen (17:10) model, the LW600, is targeted toward auditoriums and large conference rooms.

The LW600 offers a WXGA resolution (1,366 x 800) using three 1.22-inch inorganic LCD panels. The company said brightness uniformity on the unit is 90 percent from corner to center using the dual-lamp mode. Other features include:

  • Support for all HD, NTSC, PAL, and SECAM signals, as well as RGB input up to UXGA;
  • 10-bit processing;
  • Auto-switching lamp (2,000- to 3,000-hour lamp life);
  • A new cooling design and "AutoFilter" system, which rotates filters every 1,000 hours automatically for up to 10,000 hours before the cartridge needs replacing;
  • Motorized zoom, focus, and lens shift (±50 degrees vertical);
  • Composite, S-video, component/BNC, DVI-D, and HD 15 inputs;
  • Digital keystone correction 40 degrees vertical, 20 degrees horizontal;
  • Built-in keypad; and
  • USB and RS-232c ports.
