Qwest Opens Grants for Wyoming Teachers

The Qwest Foundation this week launched its 2009 Qwest Teachers and Technology grant program. It will provide grants up to $12,000 for three individual K-12 teachers who use technology in their classrooms.
The 209 grant program is being administered through the Wyoming Department of Education. Three grants will be awarded in the program: a $12,000 first-place award, an $8,000 second-place award, and a $5,000 third-place award.
"Technology plays a leading role in today's world, and because of the innovative ideas of our state's teachers, it will star in Wyoming classrooms as well," said Michael Ceballos, Qwest president for Wyoming, in a statement released this week. "Putting technology into the hands of our students advances their skills today and prepares them for tomorrow."
Grants applications are due Feb. 1 for the 2009 program. The application can be downloaded in PDF form here.
