K-12 Intervention System Moves into the Home

##AUTHORSPLIT##<--->

Gemm Learning is taking its K-12 learning intervention program into students' homes with the launch of its Gemm-at-Home learning package.

The new offering is intended to give parents the resources they need to help students increase their reading skills, without the time constraints associated with center-based instruction. The package provides a variety of tools, including Fast ForWord software, headphones, and tracking sheets, among other things. Students are tracked daily through online reports, and parents are kept up to date through progress reports and personal contact with Gemm staff.

"With parents juggling already busy work schedules and their children's extracurricular activities, being able to provide academic support in the home is an added convenience," said Geoff Nixon, founder of Gemm Learning, in a prepared statement. "We offer the same levels of assessment and support as we do in our centers, but parents can schedule the program around their lives."

According to the announcement, the program begins with a one-time assessment to determine with the student would be a good candidate for Gemm-at-Home. The consultation can be done in person--for those living near a Gemm Learning center--or over the phone.
