SkillsTutor Aligns Math Facts Fluency Program with Common Core Standards

Houghton Mifflin Harcourt's SkillsTutor division has launched a new version of its digital math program that aligns with Common Core State Standards.

Introduced last week in its updated form at the FETC 2011 conference in Orlando, FL, the program, Math Fact Fluency, is an all-digital, Internet-based curriculum focused on the fundamentals of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. It provides differentiated instruction, with an initial student placement assessment that prescribes lessons on an individual basis and monitoring of both individuals and whole classes for progress. The software also provides more than 350 activities and features multiple assessments, reporting tools, and teacher professional development resources (including coaching and help with data analysis).

Common Core State Standards have been adopted by most states and several territories in the United States. Common Core State Standards are designed to provide a national, standardized set of academic standards as an alternative to those previously developed by the states on an individual basis.
