Students Get Help From Math Tutorials

Students in middle and high school using Pearson math software now have access to a new avenue of support.

Virtual Nerd, a set of video tutorials, is offered at no charge to students using Pearson High School Math Common Core 2012, Pearson High School Math 2011, or Pearson Integrated High School Mathematics 2014, according to a statement released this week from the company. The tutorials, designed to align with the curriculum, walk students through lessons using Virtual Nerd's interactive whiteboard platform. Students can also skip over sections they already know or drill deeper into material they need to review, said Pearson Senior Vice President for Mathematics Mike Evans, in the prepared statement.

Virtual Nerd appears as a channel on myMathUniverse, a Web site created as complement to Pearson's middle school math curriculum, digits. The Web site is open to all math students regardless of curriculum used.

Additional information about Virtual Nerd, including a sample lesson, is available online.
