Mobento Upgrades Curated Library of Free Digital Materials

Mobento has launched a new media player and mobile apps for its curated library of educational videos.

Mobento offers a broad library of videos from a variety of sources spanning 26 topics and disciplines, from academic subjects like biology, art history and physics to categories like "startups," "global health" and "creative thinking." The videos are freely accessible by any user any time of day. Mobento also offers school accounts that provide teachers with a space to create courses, upload content and receive reports on student usage.

This week the company launched a new player interface, as well as new apps for Android and iOS devices for viewing videos on mobile phones or tablets. 1q AQ1SThe formal launch of the apps and updated interface took place at the FETC 2014 conference, being held this week in Orlando, FL.

"Mobento is an innovative way to leverage existing educational videos through technology to make it easy and fast for educators to find and share high-quality, subject-specific videos with their students," said Sumner Murphy, Mobento founder, in a prepared statement. "Every educator with Internet access can use Mobento's video library from their computer or favorite mobile device with our apps."

As of this writing, Mobento hosts a total of 4,289 videos.

Mobento is exhibiting in booth 1513 in the FETC exhibit hall.
