7 Schools Win Blended Math Grants

Students at seven schools in California and Texas will have access to a blended math program thanks to a grant from an engineering and construction company.

The schools will receive Mind Research Institute's ST Math software, which features "visual, computer-based math games that support deep understanding of concepts covered by state math standards at each grade level," according to a news release. The games are self-paced and designed to be accessible to both struggling students and those who are excelling.

The grants, from Fluor Corp., will provide ST Math for students at:

"We're grateful for Fluor's longtime support of Mind Research Institute, and particularly for this new gift that solidifies their commitment to solving the nation's math crisis," said Matthew Peterson, CEO, co-founder and senior scientist at Mind Research, in a prepared statement. "Fluor is impacting a socially, economically, and geographically diverse group of students and teachers, and all of them will benefit from deeper, more conceptual learning thanks to this grant."
